You may have made it this far and thought, "who is this guy?" Well, you're in the right place... I'm a Mississippi transplant to North Carolina via Washington DC and am quite new to letterpress. In fact, I would call myself a novice letterpress printer. Although, my wife, the creative one, has been summoning us down this path for years.
After our move to NC, things sped up. We acquired two "serious" presses (meaning they're big and heavy, bringing our total to 6 printing presses) and have since commenced in launching our own small letterpress business (still working on that part).
As we've learned, researched, and experimented, the one thing I love doing most (second to printing, of course) is talking to and hearing from other letterpress printers. Even if it's just to trade stories or talk about this crazy field, it's so much fun to collectively observe history reinventing itself.
This podcast is about bringing people together with new methods and technology to exchange ideas, trade tips, and just enjoy talking about a shared passion.
I think I connect with letterpress the most because it's a divergent side of myself. I live and breathe technology throughout the week, but there's something quite pure about getting lost in press setup and mixing ink, adjusting the press, slowly honing in on that one print I'm proud of. I know I can't write a bit of computer code to make it go faster, and somehow, that's reassuring.
